Back in Tokyo, we had pretty much visited all the places we had originally planned on going to, so we decided to make use of our rail passes a little more and make a pilgrimage to Ogaki for Koe no Katachi, a fairly recent and great anime movie. We caught the shinkansen to Maibara and then another train to Ogaki.
Ogaki is an incredibly beautiful quiet city and I'm so glad we decided to go there. There are a series of rivers that run through the city filled with river grass. There's also lots of carp in the rivers too. It was amazing to see how much work the city had done to beautify the area. If you visit Ogaki for a Koe no Katachi pilgrimage, make sure to bring some bread because there's a ton of carp you can feed at the bridge!!
I wanted to take better pictures of the park but there were so many kids and I kept getting weird looks.
This guy with the brown backpack was also take pictures of all the spots in Koe no Katach too lol, we weren't the only ones!
There was someone feeding bread to the carp.
I believe the learning center in Koe no Katachi is somewhere to the left of this picture
There was a single gold koi in the river, much like the one red and white koi in Koe no Katachi. I'm guessing someone put him there because he was quite a bit smaller than the regular carp and looked kinda sick...
Along with almost all of the city, even the parks had rumble strips
The cutest fire truck I'd ever seen, but on the other hand I'm sure nothing bigger than that can fit down the streets in Japan
We barely explored Ogaki, everything is fairly close by and in walking distance but there's so much to take in~
Ogaki was probably our favorite place we visited and we're definitely planning on coming back here whenever we go back to Japan. Next time we'll have bread to feed the carp and we plan on going to Yoro where Ishida and Nishimura went on there trip. We also found a Mister Donut outside of the Ogaki station so we bought some donuts for the shinkansen ride back to Tokyo. You can get to Ogaki by catching the shinkansen to either Nagoya or Maibara and then a train from either of those stations to Ogaki. We decided to stop through Maibara because only the Hikari and Kodama shinkansen stop here while the Nozomi's blast through. I'm sure Maibara is also less crowded than Nagoya as well.
